I’m Xela Rysstad (she/her), founder and practitioner, dedicated to providing compassionate counselling, consulting and equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) education rooted in anti-oppression, anti-racism, and feminist principles.

Based out of the unceded lands of the Lekwungen speaking peoples, in colonially named Victoria, BC, my aim is to foster safe, inclusive spaces for personal healing and professional growth, empowering individuals and organizations through empathy, respect, and a strong commitment to EDI.

Allowing us to have meaningful conversations free of judgement, Xela's DEI training was eye-opening! She coached us through developing tools and techniques to navigate uncomfortable conversations with confidence. Her workshop shed light on the ways in which unconscious biases can be perpetuated unintentionally. Supplementing her teachings with engaging videos, case studies and group discussions, we were able to develop a well-rounded understanding of the importance of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practices. Xela has an intrinsic ability to inspire and engage, allowing our team to build the foundation for integrating DEI more thoroughly into our day-to-day. We would absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking at building their DEI knowledge both in their daily lives or workplace.

With humility and respect, I acknowledge the unearned privilege of living, working and learning on the unceded and stolen lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations, who have been stewards of these lands since time immemorial. I also acknowledge the harm caused by colonization and am wholeheartedly committed to the ongoing work of decolonization and reconciliation.
